Easter Moments

Just wanted to share some fun moments from our Easter with you all.

The Easter Bunny always seems to bring way too much candy!

And yes, those are books!  The Easter Bunny was kind of feeling educational this year!  Kiddos didn't seem to care though!

Yes, it is like barely 6am!  We all are still half asleep!

Now onto the egg hunt.  The Bunny woke Sir up and told him that there were 52 eggs hidden.

52!!!!!

What on earth is that bunny thinking?!  Better get to looking!

Hmm...in the fridge?  Won't know until we check!

Nope, none in there.

Eventually they did find all 52.  But it was a massive hunt.  We only had 51 for about 2 hours!  Right before we left for church Lil' Sis found that last one!

That bunny is one sneaky bunny!

Pay no attention to the boy with a hand on his "Dude"!!

Awe!  Aren't they little angels?  Yeah, they can look good for the camera!  Don't let them fool you!

Can't you see the orneriness just seeping out?!

Then after church is was off to Grandma and Papa's house.

The bunny always seems to find Grandmas house too!

And hides eggs there too!

Weird thing, the bunny hid 52 at Grandma and Papas too!

Lil' Sis checking out her loot.

CX smiling like a cheese ball!

And yes, he had food on his face once again!

I swear, that kid!

Thanks for stopping in.  Hope you all had a Great Easter!

Easter Eggs

We always dye eggs for Easter.  Always!

Well, Lil' Sis wasn't about to let me forget that we needed to dye them.  I bet if she told me once, she told me a hundred times, " Momma, don't forget we need to dye the eggs!"

How on earth could I even begin to forget?!?!

I like to wait til the day before because they always stink up my fridge!  Yuck!

So, here are some pics from our adventure with dying eggs.

I ran out of red dye drops, so I improvised and used my Wilton icing dye.  It seemed to work alright.

Oh, and Sir smoked a frozen pizza for us for dinner.  That's what CX is cramming into his face!

She's so excited!!!  This is how much!

Here is the wild, rarely seen Pizza Moose!
No, my son cannot eat anything without getting it all over himself.

Time to get serious!  Got some eggs to dye!

See, the Wilton frosting dye did work!  That sure looks red to me.  But when I tried to make purple, this is what I got....

Not gonna call that purple...maybe poople!  AH HA!

More action shots!

And then, once the dying was all done, it was time for another type of dying!

Yes, that is Lil' Sis trying to push CX down the stairs!  They were riding the cushion that she is sitting on down the stairs, but stopped right before I got the camera out.  Of course!

Oh, and my grandparents gave me their little Kodak for me to use until I get something else.

Thanks Mim and Pop!  I'm using it!

Oh, and one last thing.  Lil' Sis thought that Zippy needed for the Easter Bunny to hide an egg for her as well.

She's so sweet!

Here is the note that she left for the bunny.  She even put a little treat in it for Zip!

Isn't that just precious?!

All in all, we had a great time dying the eggs.  Now my fridge stinks!

Gotta make some egg salad or something to get those things ate up!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a great day!

Mother/son event

This past Friday at the kiddos elementary school it was time for the annual Mother/Son event.  This year it was the "Win it in a minute" event.

How fun would that be with your son?!

We had a blast!

Here is a little before pic of us in the car before heading in.

I knew once we headed inside I would never be able to grab a photo of the two of us.  It's not great, but at least I got one!

Once inside it was total chaos just like I expected.  Boys running around everywhere!

We did every event that they had set up.  Stacking 5 apples (nearly impossible), getting a gumball into the middle of a tennis racquet, scooting across the floor on a towel with your son (my thighs still sting a little), tug of war with another mom and son, ping pong balls being whipped into laundry baskets, ping pong balls being thrown into a bucket on moms head (very dangerous!), cup stacking, cookie from forehead to face, stacking 6 dice onto a tongue depressor, moving cotton balls from one bowl to another with your nose covered in Vaseline, bouncing quarters into a fish bowl and blowing cups off of a table with a balloon.

It was very well planned and we even got to take home a cool water bottle.

While CX and I were at the event, Sir took Lil' Sis to a movie, "Gnomeo and Juliet".  Sis had a really good time with daddy and talked about their night all the next day.

I am so glad that she had such a great male role model.  And I sure hope that I am setting a good example for a female role model for my son.

Later that night, CX and I stayed up late, just the two of us, playing video games.  I know it's not much, but I think its time well spent on my son.  I had a great time and I'm pretty sure he did too!

Thanks for reading.  See you again soon!

Silhouette Creations #1

This week at school is Spirit Week for the kiddos.

Monday-Mismatch day

Tuesday-Hat day

Wednesday-Wear your favorite animal shirt day

Thursday-PJ day

Friday-Tiger Spirit Day

Ah ha!  What do I see?  A chance to make something, way in advance (no late nighters anymore, Sirs orders!).  Favorite animal shirt day!

Bring out the Silhouette!

CX wanted a deer...he kind of thinks hes a hunter in training!

Lil' Sis wants a puppy, actually Zippy.  Hmmm...

Searched on the Silhouette site and found these to download.  They were $.99, I can handle that!

This is what they looked like in the Silhouette application.

I rummaged thru my scrap piles and found some grey material for the puppy and a brown t-shirt for the deer.  Then I cut up a white onesie I had left over from a baby shower present.

So, next thing I did was whip out my Wonder Under.  I actually love this stuff!  Seriously!

I'm sure that it isn't the proper thing to use with my new toy, but it worked great.

I ironed the Wonder Under on the wrong side of the materials.  Then I placed the material on my cutting mat and put it into the machine to cut.

Ta Da!!!  No problemo!

I took Lil' Sis to the store and we picked out a shirt for her and CX.  She loved this striped shirt!  Alright!  It was on clearance since it's long sleeved!  Awesome!

And we picked out a nice hunter green for CX.

I then placed the doggie onto the shirt.  Making sure exactly where I wanted it before I ironed it on for good.

Then I took the back layer of the wonder under off and ironed it onto the shirt.

I did the same with CX's shirt.  It was a little trickier since it was two pieces.  Had to make sure I placed the mount correctly so that the head was just right.

I then removed the backing again and ironed the pieces into place.

Next I needed just a little bit more for the shirts.  I whipped out my trusty singer and stitched around the edges like so.

And on Lil' Sis's I did a zig zag stitch and added some heat set rhinestones onto the dogs collar.

I'm thinking the dog needs a couple of bows in its ears, but I have to pass that by Lil' Sis first.  She's very particular about her clothing.  Which is amazing because she is such a little tomboy!

She decided that it needed a flower.  I actually couldn't agree more!

Here they are before leaving for school this morning.  CX looks really happy doesn't he?!

And of course, we had to pose with the dog, Zippy!

Quick!  Zippy run!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
