CardioTrainer

So, I have been walking now for a week.  4 days in all, I know, not much, but it is a start.

Sir was asking about how many miles I was walking a day.

I have no idea.  Just walk for 30 minutes.

"Well, you know, I'm sure there is an app on your phone that could tell you."

Oh, duh!  Didn't think about that!

So, I was checking out the apps (the free ones, I'm cheap!) and came across one called the CardioTrainer.

It is free and I really, really like it!

I set my distance that I wanted to walk and set my weight and off I went.

In 25 minutes I walked 1.9 miles, walked 4.5 miles per hour and burned 187 calories.

It talked to me and really motivated me to step up my pace.  And, I could listen to my music as well.  Suhweet!

Anyway, I am still doing good.  Walking strong!

The kiddos had "Doughnuts with Dad" this morning at school.  It was a little celebration for all the kids and their dads that have participated in the "Watch D.O.G.S." program.  They were pretty excited.

And the Relay Recess wasn't as big of a hit as we had hoped.  The weather didn't cooperate with us at all.  The high was 53 degrees and that wasn't until about 5 o'clock.  We nixed the dunk tank because we didn't want anyone to catch pneumonia.  But I do think that we still made a profit.  Haven't heard the final donation amount, but I'm pretty sure we made over $100.  Better than nothing!

Thanks for reading today.  Have a great day!

A trail to remember

So, today I walked before the kiddos got up.  Or at least that is what I was hoping for.

CX was up as always.  That kid has an internal clock that is unreal!  Same time every day!  (I think I might have done that from when he was a baby.  Being breast fed and all, he was on a very regimented schedule.  I still had to be able to do things too!)

So, as he gets into the shower and Sir is in the other shower (yes, we still have two working for right now.  I'm sure that stage will be gone for a short while soon.) I grabbed my sneakers and snuck out!  Plugged my ear phones buds into my phone and set out to get my exercise.

It was really refreshing to be out so early in the morning.  The sun wasn't up yet, not near the traffic and nice and brisk!  Loved it!

Then my alarm on my phone went off so I walked indoors.

This is what I was greeted with, "Mom, you look funny when you make the corner here by the house!  And your butt really shakes when you walk too!"

"Thanks bud!  You always know how to make mom feel like a million bucks!"

And as Aimus said, "Sometimes we just don't wanna hear it, but at least our loved ones are there to push us."

That was more like a gut shot than a push though!

Anyway, I have been busy making goodies for the Relay Recess that is going on this Saturday.

My kiddos kindergarten teacher, yes, they both have had the same teacher (I got lucky!), was diagnosed with cancer last March and has gone thru all treatments and is cancer free.  So we started a Relay in honor of her.  She is so awesome!

But the Relay Recess is one of our fundraisers for our team.  We are having a donation only carnival or recess as you will.  Dunk tank, bake sale, activities, bounce house, etc.  It should be a great time, but the temp is only supposed to be 56 on Saturday.  And the principal of the elementary is going to be in the dunk tank.  Yikes!  He's awesome too!

So, I will be back soon with goodies to show you.  I had to use my phone camera so no wise cracks about the pics!

I also wanted to leave you all with a little tidbit.

I grew up in a very small town.  Very small.  Like 300 people and I think that that might have included all the cows.  I went to school in a little bit bigger town, about 3,000 people.  And I remember when we got our Sonic in town.  I was in high school.  Anyhow, there was always a group of guys that would ride their horses into town to go to Sonic.  Honestly!  And they would tie the horses in the drive up stalls.  Still, totally honest!  And they always let a trail behind them.

Well, I was sitting at a red light yesterday and looked over to the side.  This is what I saw.

Yep, that is exactly what it looks like!

I always thought this little metropolis that I live in was a little more city than where I grew up.  Apparently, I was mistaken!

Have you ever seen anything funny or odd on the side of the road?

Thanks for swinging in today.  Have a great day!

On the road again!

I walked this morning again!  Yep two days in a row, I am on a roll!

I weighed in this morning at a whopping 145.  I am thinking that I only need to weigh myself once a week.  Otherwise I might get discouraged and stop.

Since, it is very obvious that I am not losing weight, I don't seem to mind right now.  I just feel really good about myself.  My attitude seems to be better and I am getting more done during the day.  Weird, huh?!?!

So, I wanted to share with you all that I taught my first jewelry class last night!

EEK!

I was nervous, but very excited.  I knew everyone that was there, and the ones that I didn't know that well it gave me a chance to chat with them a little bit.  We made the bracelets that I blogged about here.  Just had to tweak them a little bit.  I put a clasp on them.  And the fun thing about the class was that I had a general plan and everyone just went with it.  They had their personalities come out in their pieces...not one was alike and I love that!

I think that is why I love to craft.  I love how we all have similar ideas and strive for the same things, but our individualism just peeks thru here and there.  I think that is why it is so hard for me to buy mass produced things.  Especially if I think I can make it!  It's a challenge!

Well, I am off.   Have things to do and people to see.

Thanks so much for stopping in.  I am really wanting to create something for you all, but without a camera it is very hard to do that.  I do have my camera on my phone, but the pictures aren't always the greatest.  I might have to break down and buy me a cheap-o.  Although, it would probably be more advantageous to just bite the bullet and get a good one.

Any recommendations on a good camera?  I'm not a professional by any means, but I would like to be able to take pictures at CX's games and Lil' Sis's programs without them being blurry.

Accountability

So, I don't know if you have noticed or not, but I have been on a blogging hiatus.

Why?

Well, for starters, as previously stated, my grandfather died and I was having some inner issues that I needed to deal with.  Plus, my camera has bit the big one and finally decided to go to camera heaven.  (You know, considering how much the kiddos played with it, it lasted a heck of a lot longer than I anticipated!)  Then, I have the remodeling going on, which is a huge headache as of right now.  And then, I was feeling under the weather for the past week.

But, I am back and better than ever!  *Better knock on wood!*

Okay, so the reason I am posting now is that I am needing an accountability partner.  Are you game?!

You don't have to do anything really, just read my blog, okay?!

I know, I know, it is a really big commitment, but I am serious about this!

I am trying to lose a few pounds and actually, that isn't quite right.  I don't really want to lose weight, I just want my clothes to fit me.  Make sense?  No?  Well, have you ever known those women (men don't count) who just can grab whatever in their closet and look amazing and not have to try on another outfit because the first one they tried on made them feel fat or uncomfortable?  Are you one of those women?!!!!  I envy you!

Every morning, I try on at least three shirts before I am some what comfortable with it.  Seriously!

That is kind of an overkill, no?

So, I have started walking every morning.  Once the kiddos get on the bus, I walk up and down my drive and access road for thirty minutes as fast as I can without running.  (I used to run before I met Sir, then it all went to pot!)

I will check in with you, let you know my weight, my measurements if you want them and how I feel.  Then all you have to do is read and if you feel like you would like to give a little comment of encouragement that would be great!

Soooo, can you commit?

You are all mostly anonymous to me, which is just fine, cause then you can tell me to get up off of my flabby tush and move it and I won't be offended!  Plus, I kinda want you to do that.

So, today is going to be day one of accountability.

I walked for 30 minutes and my shoe broke, but I kept right on going.

Yes, I am that pale!  Don't judge!

I weighed 143 pounds!  Wowza!  I knew the ole jeans were getting snug, but didn't know I was over the 140 mark.  Oh well...doing something about it now, right!?

And after I got done walking I was on a high!  Seriously!  I am in from the walk and cleaned my house from top to bottom!  Did all the laundry but didn't get to the stove.  Will try to tackle that tomorrow.

So, thanks for checking in and I will see you all tomorrow!
